    (e) Referring to examples, describe how international agencies and foreign governments are trying to conserve tropical rainforests.(9) -
    Foreign governments such as Britain and Norway are providing over £100m to the Congo to help them protect their rain forest

    The Rainforest Alliance is a conservation organisation operating in over 50 countries.
    It workss with farmers, NGOs and governments to develop standards in farming of such products as coffee, cocoa, fruit as well as timber products that are socially and environmentally responsible. By .'Certification' by the Rainforest Alliance, these products signal that the goods have met rigorous standards that conserve biodiversity and provide sustainable livelihood
